How do I identify trees?
There are two main giveaways...
Most of the time when attempting to identify a tree, there are two things you should look at. First is the bark. Is the bark smooth? What color is it? The second thing to analyse are the leaves. What shape is it? Does it have smooth or jagged edges? There are other things that can help as well such as location. Are you near water? At high altitudes? These qualities are what help arborists and people like you see the forest for the trees.

Hint:
Sometimes if you can't get a good look at the leaves of a tree look at the ground around the tree and try and get some of its fallen leaves. Good luck!
